Prince William and Princess Kate have big shoes to fill as King Charles‘ recovery grows doubtful. The royal couple are reportedly putting everything in place for their possibly very near ascension to the throne. William and Kate made massive progress in the Princess’ cancer treatment and are back on the grind.
Sources close to the palace disclosed that the duo is preparing to wear the crown. Their recent move, including taking on more royal responsibilities and public appearances, comes with the King’s full blessings. “It’s not a subject that people really talk about very openly, but everyone is aware that Charles’ health is failing,” a source revealed.
However, there is zero pressure from the royal couple for the King to abdicate the throne for their rule. “They want him to go on as long as he physically wants to. But there is that horrible reality of the fact he’s not getting any younger, and his condition means that the time to step up will be sooner rather than later in the years ahead,” the source said.
Despite the urgency of their situation, the vote of confidence is on the high side for the intending rulers. The source noted that Prince William has been preparing all his life, and Kate has proven to be equally capable. In the insider’s words to In Touch:
“Charles is so happy William chose such a wonderful partner and future queen, it’s a big worry off his mind because he knows the monarchy will be in good hands.”
Princess Kate and Prince William Clashed Over Prince George’s School Choice
While they mostly keep a united front, the royal duo have their moments. The couple are reportedly on different sides over William’s sending the Prince to a boarding secondary school. We gathered that William wants George to attend Eton College like he and Prince Harry did.
According to a source close to Kate, she feels “sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernize the monarchy.” Sadly, Kate’s argument does not stand a chance against reality. George attending Eton College is good optics for the royals as it is a more economical option.
Sources noted that the college is close to the family’s home in Windsor’s Adelaide Cottage. This means that the royals will save money by having their family security concurrently watch over George. For now, Prince George continues to attend Lambrook School, along with his two siblings.
Looks like the future is coming fast for Prince William and Princess Kate. The world awaits!
