Paul Burrell, who once served as Princess Diana‘s butler before her death is disclosing an invaluable lesson from the late princess which her younger son Prince Harry overlooked in his pursuit of fame. Harry has been at the forefront of negative headlines for years, following his decision to step back from his duties as a senior royal, exit the UK, and burn the bridges behind him. The estranged royal’s scathing revelations about his family in books, documentaries, and interviews have fast made him unpopular among royal fans, the British press, and many across the world who consider Harry and his wife Meghan Markle as sellouts.
This unanticipated turn of events has left the Sussexes scrambling to “hold their heads above water,” making some desperate moves to salvage their reputations. At least, such are the thoughts of a former royal family butler.
Princess Diana’s Former Butler Warns Harry and Meghan to Restratgize
In a new interview, Paul Burrell, who served as Princess Diana’s butler before her death discussed Prince Harry’s dwindling popularity among the British people. According to him, the Duke of Sussex was once the most popular royal. However, his actions in recent years have “drained the goodwill from the British people,” leaving him to fend for himself. Paul recognized Harry and Meghan’s efforts so far to do just that, wishing them the much-needed luck. He divulged,
“I wish them luck, I wish Harry luck with his polo program, Meghan luck with her cooking adventures. Meghan will move into fashion no doubt, fashion and beauty have always been earmarked for her. She is a beautiful woman.”
Despite his desire to see the couple finally break even in their showbiz pursuits, Paul Burrell admitted that he would rather have them follow the path of Prince Harry’s late mom Princess Diana. According to him, that entails utilizing their platform as a medium to reach out to countries lacking basic necessities and battling diseases already “eradicated from the West.” Paul explained that the possibilities in that field were endless and could make for better ventures than their polo and gardening interests if they truly desired to put in the work. He added,
“I don’t understand why they don’t want to get their hands dirty. They seem to want to stay away from it.”
Prince Harry Reminded of Mom’s Teachings After Public Spite
The former butler went on to call Prince Harry to order after seemingly deviating from the teachings and values his mom held so dear and imbibed in her kids before her death. He said,
“Harry, remember what your mother taught you, it’s always better to be on the factory floor than it is in the bedroom, Get back to the factory floor and do something with your profile and Meghan’s”
Paul Burrell believes this return to the factory floor to be the best way forward for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He deemed it a sensible move from the duo to steer clear of the UK while taking separate career paths. Princess Diana’s former butler also shared his thoughts on the prospects of Harry spilling more dirt on the royals in upcoming books after releasing Spare last year as part of a three-book deal. Would Harry take the “sensible” path as Paul suggests, or trade more family secrets and drama for money in the coming years? Time will tell.
