Amazon Studios has set Priyanka Chopra in a role for its action movie Heads of State, which stars Idris Elba and John Cena, Deadline reported. The three stars will kick it in gear when the film starts production in May.
The film comes from director Ilya Naishuller (Nobody, Hardcore Henry). The script was written by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles writers André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. The original draft was by Harrison Query, who is currently working on the Tom Hardy movie War Party. Plot details are currently unknown for Heads of State, including roles for Priyanka Chopra and her co-stars. The film is described as a cross between Air Force One and Midnight Run.
Peter Safran and John Rickard will produce. Executive producing will be from the two male leads and Marcus Viscidi.
Priyanka Chopra joins Idris Elba and John Cena for action movie Heads of State
Before signing up for Heads of State, Priyanka Chopra was known for projects like Baywatch, Bajirao Mastani, Mary Kom, The White Tiger, and The Matrix Resurrections. In 2021, she had a memoir published titled Unfinished. She had also gone into the music world to feature in her husband Nick Jonas’ music video for his song Spaceman. On April 28, she will be in the Amazon series Citadel with Game of Thrones alum Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci.
Her two co-stars are well versed in the action genre, including starring together in The Suicide Squad and being put into the same universe, while not together in the same movie, for the Fast & Furious franchise. Meanwhile, the director helmed Nobody, the action flick with Bob Odenkirk in a John Wick-styled role, and the first-person film Hardcore Henry.
Priyanka Chopra will be quite busy between Heads of State and her other upcoming roles. Other projects include Love Again, Sheela, Jee Le Zaraa, Ending Things, and Cowboy Ninja Viking.
