This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Surely, nobody has ever asked for a PvP mode in MW3 Zombies? The rumor of the upcoming mode has been highly unpopular since the first season of the game. After all, the whole premise of the Zombies mode in Call of Duty games is keeping your operator alive for as long as possible. But a recent trailer for a new MW3 Zombies Season 4 is seemingly changing that beloved formula by revealing an operator-killing showdown PvP mode in MWZ.

Although the recent leaks have all pointed toward the return of the round-based Zombies experience in MWZ Season 4, things have changed since the release of a bundle trailer. The video multiplies the idea of a PvP game mode coming to MW3 Zombies, and it might just be the last bullet from MWZ to hit the CoD Zombies community. Take a look:

Judging by the atmosphere of the area, this trailer takes place in the MWZ version of the Urzikestan map. And it’s quite weird that there is not a single zombie inside this trailer! The operator is only killing other soldiers, which doubles down the idea of PvP mode in MW3 Zombies.

Now this might be only for a trailer, but we’ve been hearing rumors and even a gameplay video about the PvP mode coming to MWZ for a while now. And well, if MW3 Zombies Season 4 is about to pull that off, one question remains: Why?

Adding a conflict between players in a mode where you have to play cooperatively is the last thing you’d want to see. Just imagine the tier-3 zone being swarmed by a bunch of campers, taking out anyone trying to complete the contract; could there be a more frustrating concept in Call of Duty Zombies? Hope that never happens.

So in the wake of this horrible news, we could only hope for 2 things: 1. This is a trailer-only material, and it’d never come to light. 2. A PvP MW3 Zombies will be added as a separate game mode, not inflicting the main MWZ experience in Season 4, 5, or whatever.

On the bright side of things, a prominent dateminer of Call of Duty has posted a leak about something called the Unstable Rifts coming to MWZ. This is described as a kind of Dark Aether rift that includes waves, suggesting a unique return of a very limited round based Zombies experience.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is currently available to play on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
