A California father’s ordinary walk with his 6-year-old daughter in a San Jose neighborhood turned into a disturbing confrontation when a woman repeatedly accused him of trafficking his own child, apparently because of their different racial appearances.
The incident took place in the Almaden area of San Jose, California. A video shared on TikTok by @yosemiteshyam claims the Black father was walking with his biracial daughter, who is half-white, when a woman driving a gray Honda confronted them.
According to the father, the interaction shown in the video was not the first time the woman had approached them that morning. He began recording after allegedly being subjected to earlier harassment, during which the woman had also asked his daughter whether she was being trafficked.
Once the camera was rolling, the woman continued making accusations against the father, claiming that the little girl did not look like his child because she appeared white while he was a man of color.
“I work with the feds… I’m making sure that you’re not *expletive* trafficking this poor little girl who’s very unhappy to be with you and doesn’t look like your child,” the woman says in the video. She then makes her reasoning even more explicit, saying, “That’s a white little girl, and you are a man of color.”
The woman goes on to accuse the father of potentially “buying or selling or trafficking” his own daughter. The confrontation does not end after the woman initially drives away. According to the footage, she turns her car around and returns to continue confronting the father and his daughter.
During the exchange, she also claims to work with federal authorities and says she has access to facial-recognition technology. Before finally leaving, the woman quotes what she identifies as a Bible verse before directing a disturbing message at the father and his young daughter.
“Psalm 1018: ‘My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of God from their grip,’” she says before adding, “Burn in hell because you will.”
Internet Reacts to California Trafficking Accusation
The encounter has sparked outrage because the woman’s accusations appear to be based largely on the racial difference between a Black father and his biracial daughter.
Commenters reacted with a mix of anger and disbelief. One person wrote, “Does she know she can go to jail for impersonating a FED you need to turn this video in quickly some people don’t think before they open there mouths.” Another commented, “The fact these people are so blind to their own evil is incredible,” while a third wrote simply, “I hope something can be done. This is sickening.”
Others questioned the woman’s federal claims directly, with one writing, “She better be a fed LMAO,” and another adding, “These people need to find their own life, always in someone else’s business!! They sick.”
The California father says he reported the incident to the San Jose Police Department after the confrontation.
