Kanye West and Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden have seemingly put the past behind them. Recall that in October 2022, things went south between Kanye West and Adidas following a series of antisemitic comments from the rapper on social media and in interviews. This forced the sportswear brand to terminate Ye’s partnership, after which they released a statement explaining their stance on hate speeches. Over a year after all the madness occurred, the singer and the brand’s CEO seem to be on good terms again. Recently, Ye shared a picture of himself and Gulden posing together, sparking numerous reactions from fans.
Kanye West and Adidas CEO Reunite
Speculations about rekindling a partnership between Kanye West and Adidas are brewing, thanks to a recent picture. On Monday, the Yeezy mogul took to Instagram with a new surprising photo. The snapshot showed Kanye West and the Adidas CEO posing beside each other on a couch. Ye looked dapper in an all-black ensemble, while Gulden completed his black casual outfit with white trainers. In the initial caption of the post, Ye revealed he bumped into the CEO and offered him a distribution deal.
“I just bumped into the CEO of Adidas. No cap what do you guys think this means. I offered them 20 percent of the show sales to do distribution,” the initial caption read.
However, Ye changed the caption moments later to:
“Make adidas the great again.”
Seeing Ye and Gulden together again was quite surprising, given that the Grammy Award winner previously accused the brand of stealing his designs.
Reactions Trail Kanye West’s New Post
The picture of Ye and the Adidas CEO left fans rushing to the comments section with their thoughts. Many threw their support behind the rapper, revealing that Gulden knew the importance of Ye’s influence on the brand — recall that the brand recorded over $500 million loss in revenue after dropping Ye. One fan commented:
“Adidas needs Ye more than Ye needs Adidas.”
Another follower shared:
“He see that 19.3 million you made in a day.”
A third fan wrote:
“Adidas: What do you bring to the table? Ye: I am table!”
A fourth person quipped:
“They had to come back to him for his help! A GENIUS.”
Similarly, some of The Shade Room’s Instagram followers said the same thing. A fan noted:
“They need each other fr. Ain’t nobody buying no Adidas like that no more. They lost too much money without Ye.”
Another fan noted:
“They must’ve lost too much money.”
Some fans also talked about the cancel culture and how all efforts to bring the rapper down failed. Others expressed displeasure, noting that Ye was better off by himself or with a new brand. One can only wait to see the result of Kanye West and the Adidas CEO’s meeting.
