Italia-based developer 34BigThings has finally launched its latest title, the arcade space shooter Redout: Space Assault, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam for $9.99. If you find the title to sound familiar, yes, Redout: Space Assault has debuted on the Apple Arcade and is a prequel to the futuristic racer Redout.
However, instead of speeding through the racecourse Redout: Space Assault puts you in control of Leon Barret, a Super Orbital Recon Fighter pilot during the colonization of Mars in the year 2395. Caught in the middle of an interplanetary conflict, you’ll have to build and upgrade your fighter jet to take on powerful rebel enemies, from corvettes to gargantuan vessels, and speeds through exotic galactic locations.
Along with rapid space battles, the game will also tie into the original series. Here you will uncover the mysteries and origin behind the reckless anti-gravity races of the previous game.
As a single-player arcade experience, Redout: Space Assault dishes out a thrilling combination of fast-paced 3D shoot-em-up action with roguelike elements set in a detailed universe with stunning visuals. Featuring a persistent player progression system, vehicle customization, and a wide variety of missions this title builds on the series’ trademark lightning-fast action and high-skill gameplay while adding new spaceflight mechanics.
You can grab Redout: Space Assault for 10% off on Steam for a limited time. Or until the 30th, to be more precise. 34BigThings also released a Deluxe Edition bundle, which includes the original soundtrack in addition to the base game, at a special discount. If you prefer to game on the go though, aside from releasing on Switch, Redout: Space Assault has previously launched on Apple Arcade in November 2019 as well.
There’s still time left to get the launch discount if you like fast-paced shooting games. It definitely looks fun and a neat-looking eye-candy, especially for 10 bucks. Will you be getting the game or already bought it? Tell us what you think of it in the comments below.
