Remnant 2 is the sequel to Gunfire Games’ original surprise hit, Remnant: From the Ashes. It contains a huge assortment of secrets, weapons, and bosses to fight, and not all of them are easy to find. This game has a ton of secrets and puzzles to discover, and the first one many players will run into is Ford’s locked chest in Ward 13. This guide will tell you how to open Ford’s Chest in Remnant 2 and what it gives you.

When you complete the prologue, you will find yourself in a hub called Ward 13. This is essentially your home base for the game and is home to vendors, NPCs, and a handful of secrets. Ford is the leader of the group, and in his room, you will find a mysterious chest locked by a four-digit code. Let’s just get any more preamble out of the way; the safe chest combination for Ford’s Chest is 0451.

In case you’re wondering how to learn about the code yourself, the key is the Inspect feature. In Remnant 2, you can inspect every item in your inventory. If you look under the flashlight you get after Ford disappears, you will notice that he etched the code into it. Opening this chest will give you a set of Cargo Keys, so your work isn’t done yet.

After getting the keys, leave the central base and run to the dock containers. On your mini-map, you will see what looks to be a large portal area. As you head into the shipping containers, you will run into a locked door. Use the Cargo Keys from Ford’s chest to open the door.

Inside, you will see a window with a tease of more secrets, and you can find a new sidearm on a table. The MP60-R Handgun is essentially an Uzi, putting down a lot of damage in short order. It’s a great weapon if you need something small, agile, and like to spray and pray with your gun.
