Resident Evil 4 Remake was set to feature Mercenaries mode when it officially launched. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the mini-game mode with the title’s release. CAPCOM stated that Mercenaries mode would launch later down the line. So, RE4 Remake’s Mercenaries Mode is arriving tomorrow as a free DLC.
RE4 Remake Mercenaries Mode Free
Resident Evil 4’s Twitter reiterated today that the title is getting a free DLC update tomorrow April 7, 2023. Players will have to kill as many zombies as possible within a given time frame and obtain the highest score.
Mercenaries Mode was first introduced in Resident Evil 3 Nemesis. Players had to first unlock the minigame by completing the main story mode. You traveled through a chunk of Racoon City and had to kill zombies, save civilians, and score points within a time limit.
You’d get bonus items for saving civilians, as well as extra time drops, points, and weapons. Mercenaries mode became widely popular which led to the development of the spinoff title Mercenaries 3D. Gameplay was pretty similar to Resident Evil 5 featuring stages from both Resident Evil 4 and 5.
And the popular game mode made its way to Resident Evil Village as well. Again, the mode follows previous its iconic theme. You defeat enemies, progress through later stages after clearing a wave and make a few purchases at the Duke in order to grab some supplies and weapons.
Mercenaries Mode in RE4 Remake will pretty much follow the same iconic theme as it did with its previous iterations. It’s a fun mini-game to kill time. We don’t know if CAPCOM is going to bring any changes to the already exciting mini-game.
