Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice has been subject to various scandals over the course of her fame, and the latest played out on air during a radio interview.
The icon, who had a brief stint in prison in 2015 before her return to the show, granted a live interview with Boston Radio host Billy Costa on Monday over a phone call. However, what began as a lighthearted conversation turned into a tension-filled disaster, ending with the reality star hanging up the phone.
RHONJ Teresa Giudice Flunks Her Radio Interview
While drama is certainly something RHONJ viewers look forward to on the show, with Teresa Giudice being the main player, no one expected the reality star to portray those antics during a live radio interview. Her rash reactions stemmed from a question from Billy about her bestselling cookbook, Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again.
Notably, the star took a hiatus from the reality show in 2015 to serve an 11-month sentence for fraud. Following her release, she published the cookbook, which set the grounds for her fallout with Billy Costa. The Radio host asked Giudice if her cookbook focused on the food in prison. The star immediately shot back, saying she did not want to talk about that, despite the question not being off-limit. She then reminded the radio host that she was a four-time New York Times bestselling author.
After reassuring her he knew of her accomplishments, the host switched gears to the upcoming event she came on air to promote. Teresa Giudice carried on with the Radio interview, sharing tidbits about the event. She promised the event would give people a good time, telling Billy:
“It’s all about being positive, right? And not negative? You should learn some of that.”
Her subtle jab at Billy was an obvious reference to the tension hanging around them since the question about her prison life. Yet, the host tied to keep things on a light note, promising to work on that. Co-host Justin Aguirre tried to diffuse the tension by assuring the RHONJ star they had no negative intentions with the question about her book. Still unwilling to let it slide, Teresa Giudice spoke in a sterner tone, saying:
“I have a podcast called Namaste Bitches. You Should listen to it and learn how to be a little more namaste.”
The 50-year-old’s publicist attempted to ease the underlying tension by circling back to the event promotion. However, Teresa Giudice abruptly hung up, ending her radio interview with Billy Costa.
Teresa Slammed For Being “Rude”
As expected, Teresa Guidice’s interviewers did not take her reaction lightly. Billy Costa addressed the RHONYÂ star’s actions, describing her as “easily, hands down, the rudest person” he has ever interviewed. Aguirre also weighed in, explaining they only brought up her stint in prison to paint a positive perspective of how the author released a best-selling book after serving time.
He addressed some of the topics declared off-limits ahead of the radio interview with Teresa Giudice, including her relationship with Joe Gorga and recent backlash for wearing Balenciaga amid the brand’s ongoing controversy. Billy took things even further by declaring he would not attend her event or even have a coffee with her. He ended his rants by calling the TV personality a string of derogatory names.
Teresa’s publicist has since expressed displeasure at the two radio hosts for handling the situation poorly, advising them to listen to the housewife’s podcast as she suggested.
