But it looks like she is getting back to music and the If It’s Lovin’ That You Want singer has recently revealed that fans can expect a new album in the future. This news has been met with great excitement, as fans will know it’s been eight years since she released Anti in 2016. As for what we can expect? Well, she’s not ready to give all the details just yet but she has teased that it’s going to be great.
Rihanna Talks About New Album
Rihanna’s next album is “gonna be amazing,” she told Extra in a recent interview about her ninth studio album. “It has to be — that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right?” In the same chat, she told the outlet how her new music is going to be playful. “I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and show truly where I am at,” she said.
No doubt there is a lot of pressure for Rihanna to drop her new music because she’s been out of the game for a while (although fans want to see her perform). It could be a smart move to team up with one of the other industry hotshots to ensure the best possible results. But RiRi doesn’t care to work with others. “I’m not a big collaborator … It has to be very intentional, so I’ll know when I have the record,” she confessed. She is in a relationship with ASAP Rocky, so it’s entirely possible there may be a surprise feature on one of her tracks.
Fans of RiRi will also be aware that she’s a mom to two young kids which has affected more than just her fashion choices (she’s big on comfort these days). It will be interesting to see if her children have inspired the direction she will take music. But as for right now, fans are patiently waiting for the release date for Rihanna’s next album.
