Rise of the Tomb Raider has finally gotten a PS4 release date, along with some new additions to the game.
Nearly a year after the game launched on the Xbox One, the Tomb Raider sequel will, at last, be playable on PS4 October 11.
Re-launching a game 11 months after it’s initial release can’t be done without some new bells and whistles. As such, Square Enix is throwing in some new features to make the wait all the more worth it.
‘Blood Ties’ is a completely new chapter in the game “When Lara’s uncle contests ownership of the Manor, Lara must explore the estate to find proof that she is the rightful heir, or lose her birthright and father’s secrets for good,” as was described in a press release. ‘Blood Ties’ will also be fully compatible with PlayStation VR. Along with extra game mode ‘Lara’s Nightmare’ in which players fend off the mansion from hordes of zombies, because why not.
Players will also gain access to all the previously released DLC, including a brand new co-op mode called Endurance. “Two players must team up to survive the harsh elements by day, as well as lethal threats from enemies by night. Fire takes fuel, food restores health, and every resource must be hunted, collected, or crafted. Battle to the top of the leaderboards, as others try to beat your longest survival run.”
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is the PS4 version of the same game released last year for the Xbox One, but with more features.
