Fans of Tomb Raider can officially rejoice now, as development on Rise of the Tomb Raider is now complete, and the game has officially gone gold for Xbox One and Xbox 360.ย Manufacturers are now producing the discs ahead of the game’s release on November 10 across Xbox One and Xbox 360.ย Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher commented:

“We are pleased to confirm that gamers will be able to get their hands on Rise of the Tomb Raider very soon, when the game launches on November 10.ย The entire team challenged themselves to improve on the last game that millions of fans enjoyed so much, and we believe we have created a worthy sequel to Tomb Raider 2013.

“With the game development now complete we are excited to share this incredible next chapter in Laraโ€™s journey as she continues her growth into the ultimate action adventure icon, and accepts her destiny to become the Tomb Raider.”

In addition to our growing anticipation for the game itself, Crystal Dynamics is working on DLC, which will take the form of new tombs to raid and more. Looking beyond DLC, Square Enix executive Phil Rogers said in August that a third game in the story arc that began with the 2013 reboot is coming. In other words, we have much more Lara to look forward to.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming exclusively to Xbox platforms this holiday season, but will release early next year for PC and holiday 2016 for PlayStation 4. Stay tuned for details!

I believe that games are an important form of entertainment, and that they can uplift and inspire millions of people around the world. I love JRPGs, and dabble in many other genres, especially MOBAs.
