Robert Pattinson hinted at some exciting first look footage that will be coming for The Batman at the DC Fandome event on Oct. 16. Pattinson, speaking with Variety at the red carpet for the Academy Museum’s premiere party, teased new footage for Pattinson’s Batman and Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman.
“Me and Zoë [Kravitz] did some stuff. It’s a fun little thing,” Pattinson told Variety. “There are lots of little surprises for it.”
Pattinson also mentioned that he has seen more of Matt Reeves’ film and has enjoyed what he has seen.
“I’ve seen some of the movie now and it’s kind of really cool,” Pattinson said. “It’s really cool.”
In addition to Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz, The Batman includes Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Warner Bros. seems to have a lot of confidence in this film already as there are two spinoff series coming out, set in this universe. The first is Gotham PD, which will focus on James Gordon and the Gotham City Police Department. The other is a spin-off series focusing on Farrell’s Penguin character. Both of these series are expected to release on HBO Max, though there is no release date for either. It’s also important to note that this Batman is not in the same universe as Wonder Woman and Aquaman, so don’t expect any cameos from them.
DC Fandome began last year as a virtual convention for DC fans. Part of that event featured a trailer for The Batman that pleased many fans, promising a darker and more brutal take on The Batman character. This year’s event will feature more details about the caped crusader’s next adventure, but will also feature looks at many of DC’s other upcoming projects including DC League of Super-Pets, Black Adam, The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and the Peacemaker series.
Since The Batman is coming out relatively soon, there will most likely be a new trailer unveiled at the event. The Batman is expected to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
