A few days before E3 2018, a leak from 4chan stated that Rocksteady would be unveiling a new Superman game called Superman: World’s Finest at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The leak claimed that Superman: World’s Finest is a single-player only title and would be revealed at Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference. Other DC heroes would be involved in this with Brainiac as the game’s main villain.
Of course, this “leak” wasn’t real. E3 came and went without any word from the developing studio behind our favorite Batman games. Sefton Hill, game director and co-founder of Rocksteady Studios, saw the disappointment from fans and took to Twitter to address their absence at E3:
Hi all! I wanted to share a quick message from me and the Rocksteady team… pic.twitter.com/dlzIrACfcR

Although it is very likely that Rocksteady is still working with DC on a new project, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a Superman game.
A few years ago there was a rumor going around that the next Rocksteady DC project would be another installment of the Arkham franchise starring Bruce Wayne’s biological son, Damian Wayne as the new Dark Knight. It seemed like a reinterpretation of a Batman Beyond type of game with a middle-aged (and bald) Dick Grayson mentoring the new Batman.
There have also been rumors of Flash, Green Arrow, and Justice League projects in development by Rocksteady in the past.
The last main installment of the Arkham franchise came with Batman: Arkham Knight back in 2015. Whether their next game is based around The Man of Steel, Damian Wayne as the caped crusader, or a Justice League project, we can’t wait to see what Rocksteady has planned for us in the future.
