Ever since ABC announced that Roseanne would be getting another run, fans only had one question. Is Dan Conner still dead?
It’s been two decades since the final episode of Roseanne aired, leaving viewers heartbroken as a result of the surprise on screen death of Dan Conner (John Goodman). The entire ninth season was full of elaborate stories – mostly as a result family winning the lottery – that were revealed to be a part of a novel that Roseanne was writing, instead of actually being real.
The show also revealed that Dan suffered a heart attack one season before, dying from it, with many fans being upset at the decision. ABC seems they weren’t a fan of the show’s decision to kill Dan either, as the upcoming revival is reportedly going to retcon his death.
All of this is according to a source that told tvline.com that Dan is very much alive. “They’re going to pretend like it never even happened.”
Alongside the sites unknown source, it has been revealed that the entire immediate Conner family has been confirmed to return in the revival, including Dan. Details on the situation are sparse at the moment, but since nothing is confirmed it’s entirely possible he shows up in flashbacks, still very much alive.
Our fingers are crossed that they do retcon the entire final season, including the reveals that Jackie was actually a lesbian, Darlene had been in a relationship with Mark and David ended up with Becky.
