In case you wanted more Barbie just in time for the holiday season, Ryan Gosling has released a new album, “Ken The EP.” He teamed up with producer Mark Ronson, for three new versions of the viral hit from Barbie, “I’m Just Ken.” Of course, this comes months after Barbie’s financial success as it made over $1.4 billion at the box office and will undoubtedly end up being the highest-grossing movie of the year.
What Songs Are Included on Ken The EP?
All three of the new tracks on “Ken The EP” are just alternate versions of “I’m Just Ken” which everyone knows from Barbie. But, Gosling and Ronson were creative with these new tracks, putting out an acoustic version of the song, a disco version, and of course a Christmas version of the song dedicated to Barbie. The three songs are titled, “I’m Just Ken (Purple Disco Machine Remix)”, “I’m Just Ken (Merry Kristmas Barbie)”, and “I’m Just Ken (In My Feelings Acoustic).” Note that Christmas is spelled with a “k” because it’s brimming with Kenergy.
You can watch the “Merry Kristmas Barbie” version of the song above. Ryan Gosling clearly brought his own swagger to this version, crooning out a song fans will be replaying all holiday season. Of course, this release coincides with awards season, as Barbie is and probably will be up for many awards this year. Amongst all the awards the movie is up for at the 2024 Golden Globes, “I’m Just Ken” is also up for Best Original Song.
The new songs are available to stream on all the usual services like Apple Music and Spotify, alongside the Barbie album. Barbie is available to stream on Max, or you can rent or buy it from Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and the Google Play Store. You can also buy Barbie physically if that’s more your thing.
