A spouse always knows how to joke with their partner. While Blake Lively joined Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl, Ryan Reynolds was at home and able to watch the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. Not having his wife there, the actor took the opportunity to post a fun joke on Instagram (seen below).
In the picture, the actor is standing next to his TV with the trailer on with a big smile on his face as he enters the MCU. He asked if “everyone seen the #Deadpool trailer?” He then asked, “Also has anyone seen my wife?” to have fun about her absence.
Ryan Reynolds Jokes About Blake Lively at the Super Bowl and Missing Out on Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer
The Instagram post got plenty of attention, with over 3 million likes in a day, thanks to his 51 million followers. People paid compliments to Blake Lively’s appearance at the Super Bowl, like one commenter writing, “Your wife’s hair has stolen the show.” Others shared enthusiasm about his upcoming film, like with “THE JESUS OF MARVEL HAS COME.” Some people threw back their own quips, like “She’s TSwift’s wife tonight, bud.”
Today, it all came back around as Blake Lively got back home from the Super Bowl to post a picture on the same TV with the Deadpool trailer on display. She wrote, “Honey, I’m home. My day was good. Yours?”
Joking aside, it has been a huge moment for the actor. Ryan Reynolds tried to make a Deadpool movie for a large part of his career before the 2016 film. It was an astounding success and will continue as people get hyped for Deadpool & Wolverine. The first rated R MCU installment will bring Hugh Jackman back as his iconic X-Men character with returning favorites from the previous Deadpool movies.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be released on July 26.
