Platinum Games and Microsoft have announced that Scalebound has been hit with a delay. The game is now scheduled to release in 2017.

The news was announced on Platinum Games’ website. The update calls Scalebound the biggest game the company has ever created. “In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations,” the post says, “we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned.”

The post on the site continued, “Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games Platinum Games has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale–all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.”

The game was originally planned to launch in Fall 2016. The exact date for the release is still yet to be determined. As the year goes on, gamers can expect to see more of Scalebound at E3 and other gaming-related shows.
