Season 5 of The Kardashians shows that Kourtney Kardashian seems to have issues with her children. She was very sad when her oldest son, Mason Disick, refused to accompany her and his siblings on a family vacation in Australia. However, Scott Disick claims there is more to it and seemingly blames Kourtney for the rift between herself and Mason.
During a recent episode, Kourtney Kardashian stated that Mason, 14, made it clear to her that he preferred to remain at home with Scott rather than go on vacation with his mom, siblings, and stepdad, Travis Barker.
Scott Disick says Mason’s choice stems from something deeper than just wanting to stay home. Scott claims that before Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian got together, he and Kourtney vacationed together with their children.
However, that quickly changed once Travis entered the picture, and he believes Mason seemingly resents Travis for keeping their family apart. He also believes Kourtney is at risk of creating an even deeper divide with Mason and the former couple’s other children, Penelope and Reign.
Mason Chooses Scott Disick Over Kourtney Kardashian
The Kardashians cast member Scott Disick has made many changes to his life over the past few years, and they have not gone unnoticed by fans. The former party boy has given up his wild, booze-filled nights and now prefers quiet evenings at home with his children.
However, even though Scott Disick spends plenty of time with his children, especially Mason, Scott still feels salty that Kourtney Kardashian has pushed him out of their family gatherings. He also believes that is why Mason has chosen to live with Scott.
Sources close to Disick tell the Daily Mail, “Scott knows that Mason didn’t want to go on vacation with his mom because of Travis. Before Travis came along, Scott and Kourtney were vacationing with the kids. Not as a couple but as friends who were both dedicated to their kids.”
‘Instead of doing co-parenting the way that they used to, Scott believes that she is creating a deeper divide between herself and her kids with Scott,’ the source revealed.
“Mason is a classic example of this. He lives with his dad, and Scott would gladly let any of his children live with him. It is a much more stable environment.”
Many fans believe that Travis Barker is very possessive and jealous of Kourtney Kardashian. Scott feels that when Travis and Kourtney first got together, he felt somewhat threatened by their friendship and co-parenting relationship. Scott believes Travis deliberately went out of his way to make him feel awkward around them with his overabundance of PDA.
The insider adds, “Kourtney and Scott’s kids also are very loyal to their father and will always side with Scott when it comes to Travis’ issues with their dad.”
Even the younger kids, Penelope and Reign, seem fed up with Travis Barker’s obsessive need for Kourtney Kardashian’s constant attention. The kids have even called them out during different show episodes.
However, Scott Disick has clarified to his children that he is always there for them. But he fears that if Kourtney Kardashian doesn’t change things soon, she may jeopardize her relationship with all three children. Scott doesn’t want to see that for the kids, but he has no control over what Kourtney does. All he knows is that he loves his kids; they can always count on him, no matter what.
