Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega are the four survivors returning for Scream 6. Spyglass and Paramount Pictures announced the return of the cast on Tuesday. The Paramount Pictures slasher film franchise will continue, more like the reboot will continue. West Craven and Kevin Williamson created the first film. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette reprised their roles to battle Ghostface once again. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick will write the screenplay for the sixth film. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from the filmmaking collective Radio Silence will return as directors. The plot of Scream 6 has the four survivors “leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” Maybe, Barrera, Savoy Brown, Gooding, and Ortega won’t end up like Arquette. Shooting for the sixth installment of the Paramount Pictures slasher film franchise will start this summer and a March 31st, 2023, theatrical release.
Will Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega Survive Scream 6?
There were many nods to the original Scream in the fifth installment of the Paramount Pictures slasher film franchise. For instance, Melissa Barrera’s character turns out to be the daughter of Billy Loomis, one of the original killers. Twin siblings, played by Gooding and Brown, were the niece and nephew of the original Scream character Randy Meeks. If you’ve seen all the Scream movies, you’ll know that just because four survivors are in it doesn’t mean they’ll survive Scream 6. The first four Scream films earned Wes Craven $600 million at the box office. The reboot Scream earned $140 million worldwide. Scream 6 is supposed to be the last movie of the Paramount Pictures slasher film franchise. Amber Freeman (Mikey Madison) and Richie Kirsch (Jack Quaid) were the killers in the fifth movie. The four survivors will have to play the cat and mouse game once more for Scream 6.
