Starfield has multiple factions that each have their unique features. Before you dedicate yourself to a faction, you need to know what its purposes are and how they can benefit you. UC Vanguard is a modern and interesting faction unlocked after a specific part of the game. Let’s explain if you should join UC Vanguard in Starfield.

Should You Join the UC Vanguard Faction in Starfield? Explained

United Colonies Vanguard is a faction you should definitely consider in Starfield. Joining one party in the game does not prevent you from joining any other, so you can always change your mind or be in multiple factions. If you want to experience various interactions with NPCs and earn rewards, you can join as many factions as you want in Starfield. UC Vanguard is among the factions you should definitely join in Starfield.

There are some benefits of joining UC Vanguard in Starfield:

  • Access to an extensive Terromorph questline
  • Housing in Jemison

The main advantage to joining the Vanguard is the unique questline it provides you. Moreover, you can become a citizen of UC by joining the Vanguard, making you eligible for housing. After completing the Vanguard questline, you can start housing and buy your own apartment in The Well. If you have any bounties from other Starfield factions, be sure to get rid of them before signing up. Otherwise, your job may take longer and they may not accept you.

How to Join UC Vanguard in Starfield

UC Vanguard doors will open to you as you progress through the main storyline and meet Sarah and the Constellation in Jemison. You’ll need to speak to Commander John Tuala and he will tell you all about the process. If you decide to join UC Vanguard, you must return to The MAST building in the Alpha Centauri system. He may ask you to do a few things, but it won’t take much of your time. Follow the instructions he gives you and you’ll be able to join UC Vanguard. Note that you can always change your faction and join any other.
