It’s finally here, my fellow Voyagers. Sword of Convallaria announced a new banner featuring Nungal and Garcia, which will debut on August 9, 2024. The former is a Destroyer who leaves magic aside in favor of an armor-piercing crossbow. The latter is a Seeker, which is ready to infiltrate enemy lines to dispatch foes quickly or even pull them towards her. However, since you can only get one of the two randomly, should you use your currency for this banner or skip it for something better?
Nungal versus Garcia
We won’t delve into the pity system of Sword of Convallaria, but we have a guide here if you want to understand Nungal and Garcia’s banner better. With that out of the way, let’s talk about these two characters. On the one hand, you have Nungal, a terrific destroyer with excellent DPS potential. She can hit hard, bypass enemies’ defenses, and stay far away from the action if you want to keep her alive. However, her movement isn’t the best, and setting up the perfect shot will take a while. On the other hand, Garcia is the weakest Seeker of them all. She lacks a lot of mobility and survivability that other Seekers have, thus making her bad for her role. As you can see, Nungal is the best character in the banner. However, is it worth pulling for them and assuming the risk of the Double Rate-Up Banner?
Pull or Skip
Seeing this banner, I’d say it is better to skip this banner. While resources aren’t scarce for new players, you’ll hit a wall eventually when currency will stop coming fast. With that in mind, it is better to save your pulls for a Single Rate-Up Banner with a good character, such as Gloria, or wait for Nungal to appear in another double banner but with a better character. Also, you can get Nungal if you buy the one-time character selector or if you keep pulling in any of the banners. But if you really want to get this sharpshooter and don’t mind the possibility of pulling Garcia, go ahead. After all, the life of a gacha player is a gamble, and we’re at the hands of Lady Luck.
