In the early parts of the game, you will need to visit a small village called D’meta Crossing. Unfortunately, the area is filled with the Blight, and you will even encounter two dead allies. The true culprits behind this tragedy are the Elven Gods, but they have an accomplice. At the end of this area, you will encounter Mayor Julius trapped by massive tendrils. After confronting the dragon, you will be given a choice whether to save or leave Mayor Julius in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Saving vs Leaving Mayor Julius Choice
Although your party members are usually good guys, Mayor Julius is not exactly an innocent person in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. He will confess to sacrificing the villagers after the two Elven Gods arrive at their small town. He claims that the Gods corrupted him and tempted him with riches.
- Save Mayor Julius: Neve disapproves, while Bellara and Harding approve
- Leave him here: Bellara and Harding approve, while Neve disapproves
If you decide to save him, he’ll thank you for your help, and that should be the last time you see the man. On the other hand, if you decide to leave Mayor Julius to his fate, you can unlock a side quest called A Growing Corruption.
This mission takes place during Act 2 when you visit Arlathan Forest. After you interact with one of the Blights in the area, you will encounter a special boss. This monster is Mayor Julius, who has been fully corrupted by the Blight. You must defeat this monster to complete the mission.
This extra side mission isn’t that memorable or particularly challenging. The reward is also rather standard, but you can increase your reputation with the Grey Wardens and Veil Jumpers. If you don’t want to deal with this side mission, it would be better to save him. However, feel free to leave Mayor Julius to his fate if you think he deserves it.
