Simon Pegg has been quite busy the past few days. He’s promoting his latest film, Mission Impossible: Fallout. He’s talking about a possible sequel for his hilarious 2007 comedy Hot Fuzz. He even gave us some production updates for Star Trek 4.

Now, in an interview with Edmonton Journal, Pegg gave us his insight on Quentin Tarantino’s R-Rated Star Trek film:

“He came into Bad Robot and pitched it and it’s been put in the bank. I think he had us in mind when he came up with the idea; he likes the new cast. But he’s going to be so busy with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that I can’t see him doing it for five or six years, by which time we might be too old anyway.”

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Tarantino’s next project starring Margot Robbie and Leonardo DiCaprio. It is set to release in July 2019.

Directed by S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones, Marvel’s The Defenders), Star Trek 4 may be the final film for the Kelvin-Timeline crew. During the Edmonton Journal interview, Pegg also talked about Clarkson, saying:

“I’ve met with S.J. and she’s fizzing with ideas and she has the right attitude. She’s reverent, but she’s not slavish. In terms of the story, I have a vague knowledge, but it’s nothing I can talk about. I’m also doing something that is separate to that.”

The English actor, who wrote the last installment of the franchise with Star Trek: Beyond, has confirmed that he will not write Star Trek 4.

What do you think about Tarantino’s Star Trek? Do you want to see Simon Pegg and the Kelvin-Timeline crew return for it? Let us know in the comments and be sure to follow us here at The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
