Sonic Frontiers had a great reception from fans because of how faithful it was to the original games in its cyber-space levels. But at the same time, it introduced new features, such as the freedom to explore the islands and solve puzzles. That’s how Sonic Team did a good job modernizing the franchise of the most popular hedgehog in video games for the enjoyment of fans of all ages. And now SEGA has just announced, with an animated video, that Sonic Frontiers: The Final Horizon DLC has a release date.

Sonic Frontiers: The Final Horizon DLC Gets Release Date for September 28

Sonic Frontiers: The Final Horizon DLC has a release date of September 28, and it will be the final chapter of this game, the story’s conclusion that began in 2022. It will be a free update for the base game and cover how Sonic’s team will finally end Cyber Corruption. This time, players can use Amy, Knuckles, and Tails as playable characters in this DLC. This is something that many players expected at launch, and while it took some time to arrive, we’re glad it’s finally here.

Besides the new characters, players can expect new speed-fueled challenges you can take as any of the abovementioned cast members. If you’re tired of seeing our blue hero, you can take any of the iconic characters for a spin on the game’s maps.

Undoubtedly, Sonic Frontiers has been the best game of this hedgehog lately, and announcing the release date for The Final Horizon DLC is a good reason to hype players up. It’s sad to see the game ending in terms of story, but when one door closes, another opens, or so we hope. Hopefully, SEGA will continue with this formula and improve upon it for the next adventure of this blue hedgehog.

Sonic Frontiers is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5|4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
