Sony has canceled an appearance at PAX East due to fears of the coronavirus. As a result of the dropout, it means the anticipated The Last Of Us 2 Demo will not go ahead as planned. For those who couldn’t wait until May, guess you’ll need a little longer.
So, the sequel was due to be a playable game at this year’s PAX East. Naturally, the demo for The Last Of Us 2 would have been in high demand, considering its popularity. For a full hour, players were permitted to play a small snippet of the game.
To summarise what PAX East would have given fans, the section, called Patrol, sees Ellie and new character Dina, (Shannon Woodward from Westworld), venture out from their camp to clear infected from neighboring areas.
PAX East is held in Boston from February 27 to March 1, albeit, without the presence of Sony this year.
Recently, the game’s co-director Anthony Newman has revealed The Last Of Us II will “redefine triple-a in 2020”. He shared the news in a Twitter post.

Meanwhile, Naughty Dog has affirmed that The Last Of Us 2 has entered the “final stretch” of development.
They added:
“The end of development puts us one very large step closer to launch. We know all of you have been so patient over the last few years, so it’s been thrilling to see our game taking on its final shape and knowing that means it will be in your hands soon,”
It’s not all bad news of course. Despite the absence of Sony, tickets are still available for PAX East 2020 via their official website.

The Last Of Us 2 will be released onto the PlayStation 4 for May 29, 2020, following a delay from Naughty Dog to put the final touches to the follow-up.
