A woman in Summerville, South Carolina, is drawing strong reactions online after sharing that she left her marriage and granted her ex-husband full custody of their three children. Her story has sparked a wide range of responses from viewers.
The woman, who works as a hairstylist, shared the update on Facebook shortly after the divorce was finalized. In the post, she said the decision had been intentional rather than something the court forced on her. “Felicia, your son didn’t WIN custody.. I GAVE him custody,” she wrote on Facebook. “I leave with what I came with, and I ain’t come with no kids. I’ll see them on the weekends.” She also added the hashtag #HeTheSingleMamaNotMe.
On her story, she shared a video of the moment the documents were signed. Another photo showed her smiling after the process had wrapped up, while her ex, who was seated nearby, appeared more somber.
Although the woman did not explain in detail why she decided to give him full custody, she reposted some comments left by Facebook users that seemed to suggest why she did what she did. One reposted comment read, “That man was keeping those kids from her just to torture her and now yall mad because she let him keep them.” Another claimed, “She always has her kids, she’s definitely not a deadbeat… the type of man he is, he deserves exactly what she gave him!”
Based on the court document she later shared, she is not required to pay child support.

A third shared, “I love it and I would’ve done the same thing if I was in her situation,” while a fourth added, “Seeing them on weekends is cool.”
On the other hand, many did not agree that the situation should be celebrated at all, with one critic writing, “Not a flex at all.” Someone else even questioned the double standard in how custody decisions are perceived. “Sooooo a woman can do that and be celebrated but if a man do that he a deadbeat,” the comment read.
