Spencer Webb’s Girlfriend Kelly Kay Recalls the Moment He Died in Her Arms

July 13, 2022, will always be a day for Spencer Webb’s girlfriend, Kelly Kay, to remember. Unfortunately, the memory of that day will always be painful as Kay witnessed Spencer Webb’s death. It was more painful as the duo was on their way to becoming parents — an update Kay received a week after Spencer died. Now, nine months after the football tight end’s demise, Kay has recalled the details of his passing. According to her, she is still in disbelief, as Webb was only 22. 

Kelly Kay Recalls Boyfriend’s Death

On Thursday, Kay had a chat with People, discussing her life as a new mom and coping with Webb’s absence. During the interview, the mom of one recalled that tragic day her boyfriend died. Kay told the outlet she was present when the sporting star died, adding that he passed away in her arms.

“I was the one who pulled him out of the water and held his head until the paramedics got there. But unfortunately, he passed as they were arriving,” Kay explained.

The grieving woman then shared how she felt at that moment. According to Kay, it was unbelievable and felt like she had died. Kay said she tried to stay hopeful, convincing Webb they would make it out of the ordeal. However, things didn’t end up the way she imagined. One week after the tragedy, Kay got the news that left her even more emotional. She had gone to the hospital for a blood test to confirm her pregnancy. According to her, Justin Bieber’s Ghost was playing when the doctor came in to share the results. Spencer Webb’s girlfriend said she took it as a sign her late boyfriend was there with her. 

Moments later, the doctor told Kay she was pregnant. “As down and out of it as I was, there was a little bit of happiness inside of me knowing I’m going to have a piece of him,” she said. Kay finally welcomed her bundle of joy, Spider, on March 30, 2023.

Inside Spencer Webb’s Death 

On July 13, 2022, Webb was visiting Western Oregon’s Triangle Lake when he fell and suffered a head injury. The authorities were alerted about the accident, and upon arrival, they found Spencer unconscious. Sadly, all efforts to revive him failed, and they pronounced the college football player dead.

Since Spencer Webb’s death, Kay has tried to pull herself together for their son. She has said the baby’s arrival has brought her out of depression, and she’s enjoying motherhood. However, Kay is still trying to process the sudden loss. Hopefully, she draws strength from Spider and moves past the ordeal.
