Spice and Wolf, the Japanese light novel series were written by Isuna Hasekura, has run 17 volumes from 2006 to 2011. The North American volumes are published by Yen Press, and a 13-volume manga adaptation was illustrated in 2007. The series was well-received by manga fans and ranked multiple times in review books. Ten years later, Spice and Wolf is being celebrated by Yen Press at New York Comic Con, happening October 6-9 at the Javits Center.
The author of the original Spice and Wolf light novel, Isuna Hasekura, is also set to appear at the con. Details of the event have yet to be announced, but Yen Press’s Twitter page promises to keep fans updated in the future. Until then, there’s only one month to go before the big event.

As the post says, an all-encompassing collector’s edition of Spice and Wolf will be released in October, and each edition will be numbered. Online retailer Amazon is apparently already accepting pre-orders of the tome, with a price of $150 and a scheduled release date of October 4. Just a few days before the con, fans who miss out on the pre-order will likely be able to pick up a copy in person at the event.
Spice and Wolf won a Silver in 2005 at the 12th Dengeki Novel Prize in Japan. Other works by Isuna Hasekura include Billionaire Girl, the three-part World End Economica visual novels, and Magudara de Nemura. None, however, match the worldwide success and reception of Spice and Wolf, the author’s first ever novel series. If you’re heading to New York (or are already there) and plan to attend the comic con, be sure to check out Yen Press and Hasekura.
