Two big pieces of news dropped today for the upcoming 2017 solo Spider-Man film.
The film will be titled Spider-Man: Homecoming. Spidey actor Tom Holland took the stage at the recent CinemaCon event to elaborate on the film and its influences. It will focus on the web-slinger coming to grips with his powers and his new masked identity. This includes things like balancing his social life and his time in the webbed spandex.

The other piece of news is still being chalked up as a rumour, but Michael Keaton is reportedly being eyed to play the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming. We still don’t know anything about the plot of the film, so there is no way to know which of the dozens of the character’s villains he could be up for.
The famous wall-crawler will make his first on-screen appearance in Captain America: Civil War. The costume was revealed last month and was shown to be influenced by the Steve Ditko era of the comics. There is still much speculation over his role in the film, but he is rumoured to be an impartial party that illustrates the strengths and weaknesses of each side.
