Upon its seventh weekend since release, the epic ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ reigns at number one and tops the box office. The long-awaited superhero collaboration in No Way Home has still managed to beat out movies blockbusters like the series reboot of Scream. Since its massive debut on December 17th, 2021, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ has beaten countless box office records and plans to go for Avatar’s domestic box office record next.
The James Cameron Sci-fi/Action film Avatar has been recognized as third in the all-time domestic box office record ($760.5M). Avatar has had this recognition for the past three years since being knocked out of second place by Avengers: Endgame ($858 million) in 2019 and knocked down from first place after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936 million) in 2015. ‘Spider-man: No Way Home’ is not that far from beating out Avatar and pushing the 2009 film down to fourth. According to Deadline,
“By the end of Sunday, Spidey will be $25.2M away from taking out the James Cameron sci-fi movie, the superhero’s cume to stand at $735.3M.”

The movie is also following the same box office course The Force Awakens took in theaters. Things could change the following week as Moonfall and Jackass Forever are set to hit theaters.
