Sony has focused a lot more on porting its console exclusives to PC (Steam) over the past few years. Games like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn have already made their way onto PC, and Sony has no plans of slowing down as Spider-Man Remastered is next. Insomniac recently confirmed via Twitter that the upcoming Remaster on PC would be Steam Deck verified at launch. This means that Steam Deck owners will no longer have to wait for titles to go green after release. This is coming right after Steam asked some buyers to preorder the game again if they bought it on Steam.
What Does This Mean For The Game?
According to Steam, whenever a game is Steam Deck verified, it should work as well as advertised once it becomes available. The process was set in place so that people know which games to buy if they plan on playing them on the go. This means that Spider-ManRemastered fans won’t have anything to worry about.
The verification process includes testing in four key areas, Input, Seamlessness, Display, and System Support. Any game that passes all of these tests should work flawlessly on the Deck with the recommended settings.
Spider-Man Remastered Improvements on PC
When Spider-Man Remastered launches on PC, it will have a wide range of improvements when compared to the console version. Some of the main improvements are better shadows, ultrawide display support, improved raytraced reflections on capable PCs, unlocked framerates as well as DLSS support on Nvidia GPUs.
For those waiting for Spider-Man Miles Morales, that is also expected to be making its way onto PC in the future, but it is not certain when. As to its compatibility with the Steam Deck at launch, it will probably be supported like Spider-Man Remastered.
This is good news, as Valve has recently started shipping Steam Decks more frequently. Valve also promised that anyone who ordered a Steam Deck will get it before the end of the year, including people who order it right now.
