With Final Fantasy XV having gone gold, FF X11 being remade and a card game you’d think that’d be enough. Yet Square Enix seems like it disagrees because more Final Fantasy is on the way. Because a new site has appeared, teasing a new Final Fantasy mobile game.

'Final' Fantasy Mobile is on the way.
Yes, they’re still calling it ‘Final’ Fantasy.

Currently there is very little to go on yet Square has given us a few nuggets of info to go on. Of course, most of this info is in Japanese. According to digital trends;

“While few details regarding the project are known, Square Enix revealed that the game is in development for iOS and Android devices. In a brief message accompanying a countdown timer set to conclude next week, Tokita reflects on the “dramatic battles full of humanity” that define the Final Fantasy series, suggesting the project will follow in the footsteps of the combat-focused Final Fantasy Record Keeper.”

Whatever form Final Fantasy Mobile takes, it’s promising that Takashi Tokita is at the helm. Because Chrono Trigger was everything that an RPG should be. It had a great battle system and a deep, compelling story. Therefore, we can definitely expect ‘dramatic battles full of humanity’ from this new game. Because Chrono Trigger definitely didn’t disappoint in that department.

The countdown on the site reads ‘five days’ as of 28/10/16. So we should have more details by the second of November. Final Fantasy’s popularity isn’t what it was at its peak. The flood of FF games suggests Square wants the RPG crown back. With the dramatically different Final Fantasy XV, it’s clear they’re up for trying new things. Since the clock is ticking we should be able to bring you details on Final Fantasy Mobile soon.
Stay tuned to the Nerd Stash for more details as they appear.
