Today, publisher Square Enix announced that it will be hosting its own dedicated press conference at E3 this year, for the first time since 2012. This announcement seems to have become a trend recently in 2015, as earlier this year, publisher Bethesda Game Studios also announced its intent to host an E3 press conference of its own.

Square Enix
Expect to see Rise of the Tomb Raider at E3 this year.

For the past couple of years, E3 press conferences generally have been given by the same five publishers: Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Ubisoft, and EA (with the occasional presence from Konami, Activision, or similarly-sized publisher). This year, however, marks a time where seven publishers will have representatives take to the stage and present new and exciting games for the coming year and beyond. The fact that Bethesda and now Square Enix are in the mix is likely indicative of a large lineup of games that both publishers wish to highlight themselves, rather than through Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo.

Now that Episode Duscae is out, will we see more of XV at E3?

Anticipated games that will, hopefully, make an appearance during Square Enix’s conference include Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Batman: Arkham Knight, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and, with any luck, Final Fantasy XV. However, only time will tell what exactly Square Enix has up their sleeves for this conference.
