STALKER 2 Poppy Field Quest Guide (How to Get Through the Poppy Field)

Up on poppy hill

Seemingly in a homage to some of the most ridiculous Far Cry quests, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will task players with running into an open and mutated poppy field. It’s one of the earliest side quests in the game, and something you can trigger in Zalissya. Once you get to the poppy field, things get complicated because these flowers want to put you in a permanent sleep. Here’s how to get through the poppy field and finish the STALKER 2 quest.

Find Some Energy Drinks First

If you’re the type to skip through the quest dialog, you might have missed Pomor mentioning something about Energy Drinks to help you run across the poppy field.

You might be able to purchase some Energy Drinks from the vendors in Zalissya. But the good news is that you don’t exactly need to go back to Zalissya to get Energy Drinks. There are a couple of Energy Drinks you can get for free in one of the houses inside the poppy field.

Make sure to explore all the buildings within the poppy field itself before venturing into the basement location that Pomor pointed out.

Once you have the Energy Drinks, consume them and you’ll be able to run much faster and faster while also resisting some of the poppy field’s sleep effects. Take note that the effects of the Non-Stop Energy Drink are temporary, so you have to make the most of it.

Remember to quick-save often if you’re on the PC.

Where to Go in the Poppy Field

Pomor will ask for 2,000 Coupons or a favor before he tells you the location of the basement in the poppy field (the quest location). There are a couple of ways to avoid paying this hefty fee:

  • Do a bit of item-delivery side quest for Pomor
  • Kill Pomor and loot his PDA (not recommended)

Both will point you to the location. But if you don’t mind cheating, we’ll just point you where to go in the poppy field. This way, you get to save time and keep Pomor alive. Here it is:

It’s just a bit off-center to the west. Make sure to look for a square basement entrance on the ground. Avoid walking on the flowers themselves to minimize the drowsiness effect. Once you find the basement, climb down there and grab the religious icon frame. You’ll be rewarded depending on your choices:

Give Pomor the Religious IconAR416 rifle with low durability
Return to Zalissya and give the Religions Icon to Mityay1,000 Coupons

If you don’t have an assault rifle yet, I recommend the AR416 reward, but it will be costly to repair it.
