Star Wars fans, rejoice! The newest trailer for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi was shown earlier this evening. Disney aired the trailer during ESPN’s Monday Night Football halftime show, and it definitely did not disappoint. I will warn you though, even the director has warned folks of the spoilers in the trailer below.
There is quite a bit going on in the trailer above, so let’s break it down a little. As the trailer begins, we are shown Kylo Ren’s turn to the Dark Side. Supreme Leader Snoke can be heard in the background encouraging Kylo to see his own immense power. The trailer then switches to Rey and her training with Luke Skywalker, where her use of the force astounds the older Jedi. Obviously, we can expect to see each of the characters grow stronger as they search out their true identities.
The trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi takes a drastic turn as Kylo Ren struggles with the choice to destroy a ship manned by his mother – General Leia Organa. Aside from a brief glimpse of Finn fighting against his former commander Captain Phasma, the trailer is very focused on Rey and Kylo Ren. The trailer ends with Rey stating, “I need someone to show me my place in all this”, while Kylo Ren holds out a hand to her. Crazy; I know!
As if the new trailer wasn’t already enough, the official poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi was also released earlier this evening before the trailer was shown. The poster, partly shown above, features all of the main characters in the newest film with Luke Skywalker hovering above everyone else. Lucasfilm also confirmed that the tickets for Episode VIII would go on sale this evening. Even though the tickets started to sell earlier than expected, you might still have time to grab a few!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to release this Holiday season on December 15, 2017. What did you think of the new trailer? Let us know in the comments below!
