Update 1.7.29 for Starfield has arrived, and it is a far smaller update than one might expect, as the patch notes include “various performance and stability updates” and some quest-related fixes. Most of these performance changes should be fairly minor but might improve how the game runs on PC, especially.

Bethesda has announced that it is open to doing fan-requests in the future, and would like as much feedback as possible to improve the game. The priority for now, though, is to squash as many bugs as possible and streamline the gaming experience with some quality-of-life fixes that fans have been demanding.

Although it might seem disappointing that PC performance isn’t the main focus right now, that will probably take a lot of time. But on the bright side, the developers have confirmed that they are aware of the performance problems on PC, and are closely working with GPU manufacturers like Nvidia, AMD, and even Intel on better driver support to make the game run smoother and more consistently.

Finally, Bethesda confirmed that it is working on built-in mod support called Creations. This will not be limited to PC, however, as Creations will support all platforms like Bethesda did with Skyrim and Fallout 4. This has led some to believe that Bethesda is trying to use the dedicated modding community to reach the vision of what Starfield was meant to be. Going back to the present, here is the complete list of patch notes for update 1.7.29 for Starfield:

Update 1.7.29 for Starfield is available on Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
