Steam has rolled out a new sale, this one offering discounts on a variety of Warner Bros. titles, including a variety of Batman, Lord of the Rings, and Mortal Kombat games, among others.
Some of the more popular deals include Mortal Kombat X ($40.19) which is probably the most expensive, but justified from the reception; although you’d probably want to pick up the DLC packs for all the characters. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition ($20), which is definitely worth the price, albeit some lack of replay value, Batman: Arkham Origins ($5) which is a steal at that price, and Bastion ($3.74) which everyone in the world should try at least once. Other discounted games include F.E.A.R. 3 ($5) which I couldn’t recommend, Gauntlet: Slayer Edition ($5) which is pretty good, although repetitive, and LEGO Worlds ($10.49) which again, is worth the asking price.
There is also a bundle that includes the new Mad Max game and the movie Fury Road together for $72. Head to the Steam sale page to see everything on sale. All deals are good until the end of Monday, September 21.
It’s nice that we see so many sales on Steam, but this particular one is worth checking out due to the amount of high calibre games Warner Bros. produce. It’s lucky for those jumping on the band wagon late, since most of the launch problems with these games are no longer an issue. I won’t go into too much detail, but Warner Bros. of late, have been notorious for launch problems, the most well known being the launch of the latest Batman game, with terrible frame rates, constant crashes and generally being in a less than playable state on launch. The problem compounded when Warner Bros made the public statement that they were “too busy” with DLC to patch the base game, which was probably one of their more “Kind of like EA/Ubisoft” moments. When the game was finally patched, we learned that a lot of content had been gated off in order to be resold to us as DLC anyway, in the forms of pre-purchases and Season Passes (which I for one despise). So, classy stuff.
