Much of the world has been laughing since Trump announced his Space Force initiative back in June. Now, thanks to the minds of Steve Carell and Greg Daniels, we can all continue to do so as the pair have a new show announced by Netflix.
Co-created by Carell and Daniels, Space Force will be a comedy series that focuses on the government workers who have been tasked with making the President’s dream into a reality and setting up the sixth branch of the military. The show will release on Netflix at some point in the future and will be a workplace comedy, following the men and women trying to work out just what the Space Force actually is and how to get it up and running.
Netflix has released a short announcement trailer, which you can see below. It doesn’t show off anything or tell us much yet but you can still take a look:

I was tempted to make endless puns about space, quoting every sci-fi show I could think of. I won’t, I shall take the high ground. I will, however, give you the time to do so for yourselves. Time starts now……………back with me? Happy? Good. The show is promising to be a complete parody of the real-life initiative and will hopefully bring us lots of laughs. Carell and Daniels will act as executive producers on the show. It will star the former and see the latter as showrunner, a formula that worked well on the US version of The Office.
No news yet on the number of episodes or a release date yet. I’m sure we can expect some belly laughs and some trademark Carell shouting (I’m not saying this is a bad thing). Stay tuned for more information on Space Force as we get it. I for one look forward to seeing what proves to be the more compulsive viewing. Fiction or reality. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments.
