IDW Publishing is bringing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into the world of Stranger Things. The publisher announced a new crossover event happening this Summer between the two properties. While that is all the information we have so far, we did get an early look at the title’s cover. IDW promised more details would be coming soon.

Stranger Things and TMNT and Crossovers, Oh My!
This crossover event is a joint effort between IDW and Dark Horse Comics. The latter currently holds the publishing rights for Stranger Things comic books. Of course, IDW owns the publishing rights for everyone’s favorite pre-pubescent reptiles. However, neither property is a stranger (see what I did there) to crossover events.
While the Stranger Things comics have not featured any major crossovers since its debut, the property itself has seen quite a few. Naturally, Wizards of the Coast has released several Stranger Things-themed games and D&D editions. Plus, the franchise has been featured in several video game crossovers. Most notably, the show’s characters have appeared on Fortnite, Dead by Daylight, and Minecraft.
Meanwhile, the TMNT comics has had their share of crossover events. There have been several TMNT and Batman crossover events, as well as a currently ongoing TMNT and Power Rangers crossover. Other properties sharing the page with the Turtles include Ghostbusters, X-Files, and Usagi Yojimbo. Plus, a Street Fighter crossover is happening later this year.
The Here and Now
Currently, Jody Houser, Sunando and Dan Jackson, and Marc Aspinall are gearing up to release Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins #2 next month. The issue puts Hawkins, Indiana, back in the spotlight. This time it is Murray Baumen who suspects there is more to the town than meets the eye. Throw in some missing kids, and you have an adventure.
Meanwhile, May also sees the release of the TMNT and Street Fighter crossover. Aptly titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vs. Street Fighter #1, the issue sees the Turtles entering a martial arts tournament. However, the Street Fighters are also looking to prove their worth in the tournament.
Be on the lookout for the Stranger Things and TMNT crossover later this Summer.
