The newest entry in the popular DC Universe Movies is coming later this summer. Superman: Man of Tomorrow will feature an earlier story in the life of the hero.
Working as an intern at the Daily Planet, Clark Kent must defend Metropolis from intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo and the aggressive alien known as Parasite. He must learn on the job how to be the hero the city needs. This is a full-length animated film from Warner Bros. Animation and DC. The film features the voice talents of Darren Criss as Superman, Zachary Quinto as Lex Luthor, Alexandra Daddario as Lois Lane, Brett Dalton as Parasite, Ryan Hurst as Lobo, Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter, and Bellamy Young as Martha Kent.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow has Butch Lukic as the supervising producer. Lukic has worked on other DC animated films such as Constantine: City of Demons and Batman Unlimited. Chris Palmer is the director, known for his work in Voltron: Legendary Defender. The script is written by Tim Sheridan of The Death of Superman. Other producers are Jim Krieg, Kimberly S. Moreau, and executive producer Sam Register. Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Senior Vice President, Originals, Animation, and Film Marketing, stated:
Superman: Man of Tomorrow is an inspiring retelling of the DC Universe Movies’ backstory for The Man of Steel, taking the audience to his early days as an intern at the Daily Planet – and his beginnings as a learning-on-the-job DC Super Hero. Darren Criss and Zachary Quinto have wholeheartedly embraced their roles as Superman and Lex Luthor for this film, and the end result is a special addition to canon of films that every Superman fan will want to add to their collection.”
The film will come to digital on August 23, 2020. It will arrive on September 8th, 2020 in a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Combo Pack and on Blu-Ray Combo Pack.
