Sydney Sweeney had fans heated in comments to Instagram-shared photos of her rocking double denim this weekend. On Saturday, the 26-year-old actress delivered major 2000s vibes in her handkerchief-style crop top, going tube-style in a Miu Miu logo top and jeans as she channeled the matching denim trend once championed by singer Britney Spears.
Rushing around NYC ahead of tomorrow’s Met Gala, Sydney stunned as she showed off her fit figure in her co-ordinating two-piece, but fans seemed out to mock her. In fact, one user seeing Just Jared‘s photos laughed as they called it “over exposure.” The 2024 Met Gala is set to be huge and will see stars including Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, and Bad Bunny as co-chairs.
Sydney Sweeney Steps Out In Double Denim
Taking a stride in a busy downtown area, Sydney modeled a strapless tube top in denim, one boasting a pointed lower part that hung down just over her navel.
Flashing her sculpted abs as she dashed around and was photographed near a vehicle, The White Lotus actress paired her top with ultra low-rise jeans complete with tan leather side stitching, also showing a fair amount of her white briefs as she wore her belted pants below her waist. Completing her look with a glam pair of dark shades as she shouted out the Miu Miu designer she fronts, Sydney showed off a long bob styled sleekly around her face, with a small white Miu Miu purse and black heels completing her look.
Comments Are Saying It All
In a caption, Just Jared wrote: “Sydney Sweeney rocks a denim outfit by @miumiu as she heads to a fitting ahead of the 2024 Met Gala!“
“Omg the handkerchief top from the 00s is back,” one fan gasped. “All she needs is Calvin Klein across the waistband and we’ve gone full circle,” another said. Alongside the fan writing: “Over exposure,” comments included: “Why the full denim?” with a further fan saying that the actress has “zero style.“
“She needs to find her style, I always feel like she’s playing dress up,” another said, seemingly in agreement. Sydney regularly tops best-dressed lists on the red carpet and often comes outfitted in Miu Miu. She wore a silky, low-cut, and custom-designed gown from the luxury brand to the 2024 GLAAD Awards and has even made Vogue‘s headlines for a pantless, head-to-toe look from the sister brand to Prada.
As to those fans, they just didn’t let up. “Omg no! Not this style again!” was yet another damning remark.
