Just like with Jason Voorhees, Tanya’s launch trailer is nothing short of a horrifically good time.
Not to mention how sassy everyone gets around her. Is that a passive power of hers? In any case, Tanya seems to be the kind of character that gives you a rush. Not saying that’s a bad thing, mind you. The trailer is only a minute long, and it doesn’t make sure to tell us what variants are being used in what scenes, but this girl is slaughtering her opponents left and right. Between her speed, teleporting and kobu jutsu, I think we have a serious contender here. Her basic play style seems to be intact, but we can only speculate on the delicious changes until gamers get their mitts on her. We’ll be seeing game play montages by early morning tomorrow!
Debuting in Mortal Kombat 4, Tanya’s story has been interesting to say the least. She’s become ruler of the universe at least three times through various means and betrayed Liu Kang by handing him over to her dark god, Shinnok (who turned him into meaty giblets). Recently, she’s been featured in the main story of Mortal Kombat X where, once again, her sass is turned on full force.
Tanya returns to Mortal Kombat June 2nd alongside some new costumes for Kombat Pack owners, and next week for individual sale. We should be seeing information on the next two combatants, Tremor and the Predator, soon.
