Great things happen at “Midnights” as Taylor Swift becomes the most-streamed artist in a single day on Spotify after the release of her album. Sign of the album’s exploit was first noticed when the streaming platform broke down temporarily shortly after its release on Oct 21.
Since then, it has recorded massive sales of above one million copies in its first three days, making it the highest-selling album of the year so far.
Midnights, the star’s tenth studio album, debuted last week. The 32-year-old Grammy Winner later surprised her “Swifties” with additional seven songs three hours later.
Per Billboard, asides from Taylor Swift being Spotify’s most-streamed artist, this won’t be the first time she’ll record high album sales. In 2017, the singer recorded the most significant sales week with the release of ‘Reputation,’ which sold over 1.2 million albums.
The Tennesse native is super excited to achieve this incredible feat. She has also been hinting that a world tour may kick off next year to promote her latest project.
Taylor Swift Hints at World Tour as She Becomes Spotify’s Most Streamed Artist
Before Taylor Swift became Spotify’s most-streamed artist, she headlined five concert tours for her last album, Reputation. It broke the record for the highest-grossing tour of all time, raking in a whopping 350 million dollars.
She would have done her sixth tour, Lover Fest, in 2020. But it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This time, Swifties are ‘pumped’ as she confirmed her anticipation and fueled rumors within the music industry of another tour. She told Jimmy Fallon during a Tuesday appearance that she misses fans reacting to her songs.
The singer is spurred because, according to her, it’s fulfilling to write a song and look into their faces as they react. Although Taylor Swift didn’t state an exact date for the tour, fans should get ready for Spotify’s most-streamed artist next year.
