Taylor Swift ended up making it to the Super Bowl after all. However, many football fans weren’t thrilled with her appearance. After Swift was shown chugging a beer on the jumbotron with her friend Ashley Avignone, the crowd showed their dislike of the singer by booing her. Despite the negative reaction, Swift didn’t let that ruin her night. Instead, she chose to ignore the haters and continue cheering on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, throughout the game.
Taylor Swift Draws Mixed Reactions From Football Fans
Swift and Avignone appeared on the big screen at Allegiant Stadium during a commercial break. They were chatting when they paused their conversation to chug their drinks. While some people in the audience cheered on the pair, others could be heard booing. Swift seemed unphased by the crowd’s reaction, however. After finishing her beverage, the songstress slammed her beer can on a nearby table in triumph.
It wasn’t the first time Swift has had to shake off hecklers in recent weeks. On Saturday, Jan. 28, the star attended the AFC Championship to support her boyfriend and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs at M&T Bank Stadium. After Kelce’s team won, some Baltimore Ravens fans responded to the loss by taking out their frustrations on Swift. When the match was over, one heckler told Swift she was “ruining football.” She responded by walking right past the football fan.
Due to Swift’s mistreatment at football games over her relationship with Kelce, several celebrities have come to her defense. Comedian Trevor Noah brought up the issue during the Grammys. As Swift made her way to her seat, Noah told the crowd it was “unfair” how football fans were “complaining” over her football appearances.
Adele also showed her support for Swift during her latest concert in Las Vegas by telling the singer’s critics to “get a f*cking life.”
Thankfully, Swift has so many people in her corner who are willing to stick up for her amid the noise.
