A fellow singer and songwriter was in awe of Taylor Swift’s quick thinking in a scary situation. Gracie Abrams, who has opened for Swift on her Eras World Tour, recalled a night at the singer’s New York City apartment. The two heard something fall over, and Swift assumed it was something one of her cats had knocked over.
The situation turned serious when, as the night turned back to morning. Songs were written and many drinks had been enjoyed. Then, they realized there was a fire. It was just after the two finished writing “Us,” a track off Abrams’ sophomore album, she tells Billboard.
When the fire caught their eye, Swift quickly ran for her fire extinguisher as the flames approached the center island of her kitchen.
She was such a legend – I don’t know how at this hour or in our state she knew what to do. We both had an insane cough from the fire extinguisher fumes for weeks

Abrams Wasn’t the Only Famous Friend at Taylor’s Place This Year
Gracie Abrams was one of Swift’s many visitors in her $50 million TriBeCa home. The apartment also caught attention last fall when Swift reportedly loaned it to friend Sophie Turner and her daughters.
Originally two separate apartments, Swift purchased the apartments in 2014 and converted them into a large duplex. Since then, she has used it for a few stays in New York. Primarily, however, it operates as an investment property. That flexibility allowed her to offer the apartment to Turner, who was in the midst of a divorce and custody battle with Joe Jonas. Swift also dated the Jonas Brother as a teenager.
The “Shake It Off” singer’s generous offer and show of support was proof to the singer’s fans that she’s a girl’s girl. Some detractors did comment on her getting involved in her ex’s relationship drama, however.
