Tennessee Bombshell as Jelly Roll Takes Over the Kimmel Desk, Torches Trump’s Weight, and Goes Below the Belt: ‘From One Fat Pig to Another’

Ooh, big burn

Country star Jelly Roll has gone viral once again after turning his dramatic 300-pound weight-loss journey into a pointed joke about President Donald Trump, telling the president that slimming down could have some unexpected benefits. Furthermore, the Tennessee-based singer even went as far as giving some cheeky weight-loss advice to Trump: “from one fat pig to another.”

Jelly Roll, who was guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, August 24, used his opening monologue to poke fun at reports that Trump had gained weight. The singer referenced the president’s recent appearance at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix before shifting to Trump’s reported weight gain. “After his last physical, we found out Trump gained 14 pounds, which means he’s now tipping the scales at almost 240,” Jelly Roll joked.

The 41-year-old performer then compared Trump’s reported weight to his own transformation. “In the last few years, I’ve lost 300 pounds. That means I’ve lost an entire Donald Trump,” he said, prompting laughter from the studio audience. He then delivered his biggest political punchline: “And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing.”

Jelly Roll subsequently defended the joke by pointing to Trump’s own history of making disparaging comments about people’s bodies. The broadcast played clips of Trump referring to individuals as “fat slobs” and “fat pigs.” “Well, if that ain’t the pot calling the kettle fat,” Jelly Roll said before addressing Trump directly. “From one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important.” He then added an even more provocative punchline, telling the president that getting in better shape could have an effect on his sex life.

Jelly Roll’s jokes have riled up some people

The remark drew laughter from the studio audience and quickly became one of the most widely discussed moments from Jelly Roll’s guest-hosting appearance. It also gave his weight-loss story a more personal angle: after shedding roughly 300 pounds himself, the singer presented his own experience as evidence that making major changes to one’s health is possible.

With that said, the singer’s comments quickly divided social media users. Some applauded him for taking on the president, while others accused him of abandoning his previous relationship with Trump. “Wait a second, do I like Jelly Roll again?” one commenter on Facebook wrote. Another called it a “Rare W for Jelly,” while another said, “This will cause an uproar in so many trailer parks this morning.”

Not everyone was impressed. “Jelly roll is still a joke,” one critic wrote, while another dismissed the appearance as “damage control” following Jelly Roll’s reported split from Bunnie Xo. Others questioned Trump’s reported weight, with one commenter writing, “If he’s 240lbs, then I’m 150.” Jelly Roll’s transformation has been closely followed after he weighed more than 500 pounds in 2024. Despite setbacks from stress eating, he has continued to discuss his efforts to improve his health.

Meanwhile, others have also pointed out that Jelly Roll was once seen pictured with Trump and other MAGA-aligned artists, leading to comments that he might have switched up his political views. “I thought he was Trump’s buddy,” questions one commenter, while another states, “He used to be MAGA, but fortunately she seems to have turned away from the dark side of the force.”
