A Tennessee man named Jonathan Belk is behind bars this week after returning home early from a trip to find his wife having an affair with a teen boy named Billy J. Floyd. The situation escalated and tragically led to the stabbing death of the teenager. The shocking scene went down about 40 miles away from Chattanooga, as police arrived on the scene to find Belk covered in blood at the horrific scene.
Reports suggest that Jonathan Belk, 41, returned home unannounced and early from a trip when he found his 31-year-old wife in bed with the 18-year-old Billy J. Floyd, per Law & Crime. The situation led to Belk stabbing Floyd and eventually dumping his body in a trash can, where he was found in the fetal position. When police arrived at the home, Belk was said to be “standing in his doorway covered in blood.”
However, Floyd wasn’t the only victim in the attack. Belk’s wife was also injured and taken to the hospital with several stab wounds. When police questioned the Tennessee man about any concerns he might have other than the legal repercussions of his crime, his answer was surprising.
Tennessee Man Jonathan Belk Stabs Teen Over Affair With Wife and Still Worries About His Marriage
“I am worried about my relationship with my wife due to the fact that I offed him,” Belk allegedly stated.
Jonathan Belk is now being held at the Sequatchie County Jail where he’s facing multiple charges, including murder.
Sadly, the other Tennessee man, Billy J. Floyd, lost his life in the heated moment. The teenager had just turned 18 three days before his murder. He was said to have enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and riding four-wheelers. He also loved being surrounded by his friends and family.
A loved one has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral costs. Meanwhile, it appears that there are a lot of questions surrounding Floyd’s affair with Belk’s wife. Such as if it was an ongoing affair before he turned 18-years-old, and if this could be considered a crime of passion.
“It could be considered a crime of passion. You can see the hurt on his face,” one person commented on the situation.
“I’m sick of hearing (killing of passion). This man is hurt because he’s going to prison. He murdered basically a child,” another disagreed.
“Crimes of passion are real and happen all the time. My advice is don’t cheat and don’t lie,” a third person wrote.
“This affair is wildly inappropriate. It might be worth looking into the wife as well,” a fourth comment read.
For now, the Tennessee man is behind bars for taking stabs at the teen and his wife. It remains to be seen whether Jonathan Belk’s wife will face any legal blowback over the affair. However, people certainly do seem to be interested in the case.
