A woman in Tennessee faced criticism online after a video showed her causing a scene outside a Kroger store when a security guard asked to see her receipt.
In the video, the woman could be seen yelling at a security guard who had reportedly asked to see her receipt. She argued that she was not in trouble for stealing before shouting at the guard, “Get the [expletive] out of my face about a [expletive] receipt.”
Several shoppers were seen leaving the store while the argument continued. Despite the activity around them, the guard remained focused on the woman as she continued yelling. She repeatedly demanded that the guard not touch her and made it clear that she would not show him anything. The woman also stated that she was pregnant and said the situation was making her increasingly irritated.
“I’m not gonna let you see [expletive] because I’m not doing [expletive],” the woman added during the confrontation. As she attempted to leave, the security guard repeatedly stepped in front of her, appearing to block her exit. During the exchange, she continued yelling and cursing at him.
She then warned the security guard that if he did not “get out” of her face, she would spit on him. Shortly afterward, she pushed his hand away as he attempted to stop her and managed to leave the store area. As she walked away, the guard appeared to begin contacting police.
The security guard continued walking beside the woman outside the Kroger store as she switched her grocery bag to her other hand, seemingly to prevent him from taking it. She then moved close to his face and yelled, “I’m not stealing [expletive], and you can call the police. I don’t give a rat’s [expletive].” She continued shouting as the video ended. It remains unclear what happened afterward or whether police ultimately became involved.
Viewers Attack Tennessee Woman Following Video
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the woman in Tennessee for how she handled the confrontation outside the Kroger store. Most commenters argued that she should have simply shown the security guard her receipt instead of escalating the situation. “This is too much and not that serious,” one person wrote. Another said, “Just…….. show the receipt,” while someone else added, “I don’t understand.. just show the receipt and go.”
Some viewers sided with the woman and argued that she was not legally required to show her receipt. One person wrote, “But actually- you are not legally required to comply nor do you have to legal show your receipt. Just saying.” Another argued, “they don’t typically ask for a receipt if they stop u at Kroger they saw u stealing.”
The video divided viewers online. Some believed the woman overreacted to a routine receipt request, while others argued that she had the right to refuse and respond the way she did after being stopped by security.
